Omaha-Based Sunflower Grant Writers Launches Sunflower Scholar School to Help Nonprofits Build Grant Funding Confidence

OMAHA, Neb. - Nebist -- Sunflower Grant Writers is launching Sunflower Scholar School, https://www.sunflowergw.com/classes/sunflower-s... a new cohort-based grant training and coaching program designed to help nonprofits become more confident, strategic, and successful in pursuing grant funding. The program officially launches with a kickoff celebration on June 2, 2026, from 3–6 p.m. at Forge Event Hall at The Catalyst, 4601 Catalyst Ct, Omaha, NE 68106.

The inaugural cohort begins in August, with registration open through June 30. Built around the message, "Five Weeks. One Grant. Lifelong Skills." Scholar School combines live coaching, structured homework, and customized grant strategy support to help nonprofits move from reactive to ready.

"The nonprofit sector is filled with brilliant, mission-driven people doing incredible work, but many organizations simply haven't had access to the tools or training needed to pursue grants confidently," said Katie LeDoux, founder of Sunflower Grant Writers. "Sunflower Scholar School was born from a deep belief that brilliant, mission-driven people shouldn't be locked out of funding simply because no one ever taught them how to access it."

The U.S. nonprofit sector includes approximately 1.6 million organizations, with more than 90% operating on budgets under $1 million. Scholar School was created specifically to help smaller nonprofits access practical, affordable grant support and strategy. The program was recently developed during LeDoux's participation in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program and is currently pending certification through the Grant Professionals Certification Institute (GPCI).

"Katie brings a rare combination of strategic thinking, creativity, and follow-through to every endeavor she undertakes," said Rashid Carter, Lead Faculty for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program National Cohort. "She is building something meaningful and sustainable, and it's been exciting to watch her refine and scale her approach."

Program participants will work directly with Sunflower team members in real time while learning the foundations of grant readiness, funder research, evaluations, budgeting, board development, and long-term sustainability. They will leave with reusable grant boilerplate language, personalized feedback, recommended funding opportunities, and a customized grant roadmap designed to support long-term success.
