OMAHA, Neb. - Nebist -- CASA for Douglas County proudly recognized the dedication and impact of its Volunteer Advocates at the organization's 3rd annual celebration, the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, held on Wednesday, April 23rd at the Venue at Highlander.
Each year, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for Douglas County honors outstanding individuals who go above and beyond in their role as advocates for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. These trained Volunteer Advocates dedicate their time and hearts to ensure that every child's voice is amplified, and their best interests are represented in the court system.
"We are thrilled to honor these incredible individuals who embody the mission of CASA," said Kimberly C. Barnes, Executive Director of CASA for Douglas County. "Their compassion, commitment, and advocacy change lives every single day."

The event was attended by Volunteer Advocates, Board Members, CASA for Douglas County staff, and community guests.
CASA for Douglas County extends sincere gratitude to American National Bank, the proud sponsor of the evening, whose support made this celebration possible. The organization also thanks Just Some Dads Performances, the incredible local band that generously donated their time and talents to provide entertainment for the evening.
Currently, CASA for Douglas County supports 240 children with the help of 108 trained Volunteer Advocates. Over 100 children still need a compassionate Volunteer Advocate to amplify their voice.
